Job Summary
To manage the workflow within the processing center by reporting and challenging predicted targets to ensure the site effectively meet the needs of the business. Ensuring the business and site is aware of the targets and ensure the resource is in place to achieve this.
Job Key Responsibilities
- Ownership and analysis of DC production plan to determine weekly and monthly recruitment needs ensuring timely communication to the HR Manager for sourcing and execution of recruitment plan.
- Effective communication of recruitment needs to the training team to enable them to forward plan and ensure availability of appropriate training resource.
- Manage and facilitate team and own input into weekly planned conference calls.
- Proactively plan people & training resources to ensure needs of the business are met with regards to department production needs and shift pattern requirements.
- Responsible for the management and visionary leadership of the site Planning team to effectively meet the needs of the business.
- Produce site operational daily and weekly plans liaising with the Shift Operations Managers to ensure successful implementation.
- Preparation of the site weekly review for discussion at the Monday weekly conference call.
- Partner with Process Improvement & Quality Manager and AGM to consider the implications of the plan.
- Identify the risks and issues associated with the plan by daily floor walks gathering feedback and coaching managers to ensure correct interpretation of the plan.
- Work in partnership with Shift Operations Managers to ensure the successful flow of merchandise and resolving issues that may hinder the departments achieving planned targets.
- Manage flow of non-merch liaising with other sites and Logistics Centres to ensure sufficient resource on site at all times.
- Build solid relationships with Home Office to ensure active awareness of forthcoming events, opportunities and initiatives.
- Lead daily site operational calls
Job Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Commercial experience of distribution centre processes and workflow.
- Proven experience of building, developing and managing an effective team.
- Resilient and persistent management style, capable of influencing at all levels.
- Analyse and interpret statistical information.
- Working knowledge of Trading Standards and Quality Standards methodology (eg. ISO9000).
- Ability to prioritise work efficiently to set up and achieve measurable targets and work within set budgets.
- Ability to think strategically using knowledge of ‘off price’ concept.
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence the operational teams.
- Problem-solving.
- Project management skills.
- Excellent computer literacy.
- Self motivated with an ability to inspire and motivate their team and peers.
